Hey there,

 

Failure of launchd in VMware is a common problem with some ISOs. Are you sure that the ISO you have works at all?

 

If I were you, I'd install VMware Server (or Workstation, if you have it) and try the ISO under that, first. If you still get the launchd problem, then you simply need a different ISO.

 

I know that the 10.4.6-Myz release works under VMware Server and Workstation.. but you need to convert the ISO to a VMDK and mount it as an IDE disk. Then boot the ISO (yes, this is strange, but it works) and install to your virtual disk (not the ISO->VMDK disk, the OTHER one that you should have as well). Once installed, you can delete the converted VMDK.
