another doubt...

can i access one particular drive to all os(mac/xp/ubntu) is it possible...? give deatil's about drive sharing ...?

thanks...

It's quite possible...I'm doing it.

I have OSX on a separate ATA drive, then a large sata with partitions for XP, Vista, and Ubuntu - I'd also add a fta32 partition, which is easily read/write mountable on all OSs - NTFS partitions for XP and Vista normally mount read-only on Linux/ mac, though there are ways to mount r/w if you really want to. Seeing HFS+ mac partition from XP or Vista takes either Transmac or Macdrive. You can mount EXT linux partitons in windows with a freeware system extension (ext2fs?) I don't remeber, nor do I know if you can use this with Vista. Use a fat32 drive, or a fat32 usb drive, or flash key...whatever...to move files around.

Anyway, EasyBCD makes setting up the vista boot loader to boot everything from one place. I have grub installed to the boot partition of the Ubuntu partition so I can boot that....EasyBCD basically automates the chain0 method for OSX.

Keep in mind that if you install an os on a multi-partition drive, the os has a nasty habit of placing it's own bootloader on the MBR of the drive, so you generally have the bootloader of the LAST OS you install...in my case, I installed Vista last. You can boot from CD and fix a bootloader on the MBR if it gets overwritten.

Don't know about the VMware deal as my install is native...but if you are just using VMware because of the SAT thing, you may want to consider an inexpensive ATA drive for OSX only.
