Hello. I've been searching forums and wikis but am still coming up stuck on a few things that I'm sure someone here can help with.

I got a few different versions of the patched OSX (10.4.5 - 10.4.8) but I get stuck at various places.

First off, my machine specs are

Core2 Duo E6300 running at about 2.4 Ghz

1gb DDR800

MSI p965 Platinum mobo

250gb SATA hdd

IDE dvd-rw

When I boot directly to the cd/dvd, I always get the /com.Apple.boot.plist not found error. This has been regardless of the version. I fired up a virtual machine using the tips I've found on this and other forums but when I get into the install, I've not been able to get it to see anything other than the virtual disc I've mounted with daemon tools. I tried it with a virtual disc on its own partition as well as with a virtual disc created on a 20gb usb drive. Either way I get stuck.

My question is whether I need a different patch or something to be applied in order to get the installer to see my other drives. I had hoped that any issues with SATA controllers on my mobo would be resolved by using the usb drive but maybe it's the same issue.

Any tips or advice for me? I know this is just a tinkering project but it's driving me nuts not being able to figure it out.

Edit: one other thing. When I fire up 10.4.8 in the virtual machine, it reboots immediately after the grey apple screen flashes up on the screen. I figured it was a version thing or a specific patch thing but can't figure out why that would be since I got the Intel version with sse3 which is definitely supported by my CPU)
