You r right, no reason to destroy an iso just for fun.

thanks 4 the tip. i was just wandering if you knew how to make those other options disappear at the installation screen since i deleted them, i thought they werent gonna be vissible. is there any way to take them out too? and also the name at the header, is there a way to change that too? thanxs really helpfull.

Go Disc Utility.

Make an image the size you like(4,3 Gig) on desctop.

Thats an empty image the size you can feet on an normal DVD.

Go Terminal.

Type exactly: sudo -s

Your pasword:

Type: hdiutil attach "drag your dmg here" -readwrite

Put anything you like in it.

Burn it in a DVD with Disc Utility when finish.

Enjoy your work.

no one on the forum wants to take the time to really help someone. Lazy, leaving posts like YES. WTF. why even post if you not here to help all you can? :)

You must to be deeper in the packages and that is dangerous for the DVD functionality.

In some files is the "resurces" that have the backround images, texts, icons. etc.

Be careful.

Maybe Use Pasifist (it is on extra apps on 10.4.7 dvd that i m still seeding).

:)

Convert to iso before?

its like this, i created an iso of osx from the program Toast by roxio.

i then used the command earlier that you gave with the attach at the terminal. It worked. i was able to edit the Packages in the DVD. the only problem is, when i boot the OSX image i still see the pacakged that i deleted earlier. now i am tryng to fix it on how am i gonna get rid of all of the unwanted packages from the custom install screen.

you could edit the packages on a burnt dvd or just to the .iso on the desktop? and then you burnt the edited .iso to a dvd?

i edited the iso (.toast) on the desktop through the terminal code earlier then i burned the same iso with the unecessary files taken out with toast. my problem is, when i reboot osx the files i deleted earlier are still visible on the menu. but i deleted thos packages earlier... pls help me resolve that thank you.

i was able to figureout the modification parts of the installer- my only problem now is how do i remove the unwanted entry files from the menu. does any one know? im using pacifist already...

dash21 Please have a look at this.

This iis what I am trying to do >> > http://forum.onmac.net/showthread.php?t=230 <<<

After you get your system set the way you want. just make disk image of the osx partition. Then put that in the install .iso an burn

After boot from the disk you open Disk utility and restore with the disk image of osx you put on the dvd. To the partition you would normally

install to. So no more having to go through the long process of installing drivers, kexts, apps, ect. It will be ready to go just like if you spent hours reinstalling you system! Everytime, BUT in just minutes

Picture is out of the subject but is nice thnx to docmac:

thankx for the upp docmac ill keep that in mind, when i want to reinstall my sytem but for now, what im trying to do is make a reversion of the osx hackintosh- the only problem i have is the one that you can see in the photo. sori for the blurred pics. i hope someone could shed some light on this... thanks also Oracl67 both of you have been very helpfull.

I am pulling my hair out trying to get a .iso that I can edit then burn to a dvd that will boot. I have tried to make a .iso with toast. Then try to make it readwrite. But everytime I get error. I am lost. All I want is to remove a few packages from my JaS 10.4.7 .iso. And then burn it and have it boot so I can open disk utility after the disk boots!

***These are the errors I am getting with the .toast image***

okay here are the steps to make it easier for you... DOCMAC we are doing the same thing/. you are gonna have a problem once you delete the packages because it will still appear once ytou boot. thats my problem now.

this is what im trying to show you: this is at boot. i deleted te packages Jas AMD but it still appears- is there a way to edit this? please help

Steps for recreation of dvd.

the boot file is part of the iso. it is a hybrid iso... as default, Toast doesnt allow you to make a boot volume. so you need an iso of the dvd. or an iso on the desktop. just change the file extensions. IE(.toast / .iso)

***

just select "copy" at the left side and at the top menu. select save as disk image. the file output is a .toast file. (copy it from the bootable iso of JAs)

put the image (.toast) file on the desktop. type in the terminal

cd ~/Desktop

hdiutil attach image.toast -readwrite

(image.toast is the name of the file)

i was trying to take out the AMD packages but again it still is visible on the menu at boot up. please help... EEEEEEKKKKKK!!!! :)
