blinksilver
i own a sony S460, and am considering installing 10.4.3 when the MacVidia team decides to release its next driver, but before i get too attached to the idea, I was wondering if anyone owns a similar unit. my question include.... Do your FN Keys work, (IE, can you use them to control brightness and volume) Does the battery meter work? Can you enter and exit sleep is there anything i should know about? I went through THE HCL and only found a few things and left me with many questions.
VaiOSX
Do your FN Keys work, (IE, can you use them to control brightness and volume) It's not supported by OS X. Does the battery meter work? Yes, it does. Can you enter and exit sleep Yes i can, but when i activate the sleep mode, only the Hard disk goes to sleep. platform=ACPI|X86PC doesn't fix it. (anyway under XP sleep mode made it crashing, lol). is there anything i should know about? Sony is much more proprietary on its own hardware than Apple is. No Bios update, they never care their customers about the laptops support. I finally don't care, i own a Powerbook G4@1.67Ghz. (it is far better than a EOM PC laptop). I don't know if it has any linux only stuff, can you give it a try. if ACPI keys don't work then can i setup custom keys to control volume and to call this little app (if it works, to adjust brightness) did you test sleep on 10.4.1 or 10.4.3, i am told that in "3" there are some fixes. thanks : )
