RobNyc
I'm getting some parts to put together a new rig I have 3gigs of ddr400 ram and IDE drives with important stuff that I need to backup into a SATA drive later on. My old rig was Asus p4p800-e-deluxe p4 3.0ghz 2gb of ram x1600 pro 512mb agp. It died so im just going for the best bang for the bucks now. I was asking some experts on the subject for help they told me I should .. - DFI Motherboard specifically the DFI UT Nforce4 SLI-DR Expert since its the best OC'er out there for s939 anyways. - Opteron 165 - Others said Athlon 64 x2 3800+ (s939) - Others also said any DFI mobo will rock I really wanted this mobo http://sg.vr-zone.com/?i=3213&s=1 but osx86 wiki says it will not work anyone can confirm ? I would to like hear everyone's opinion here. I am on a budget (Best Bang For Bucks) SPend As Little For The Most Performance. I have the IDE hard-drive, 6200LE PCIE video to hold me for a few weeks, Antec TruePower-II 430w psu, ddr400 ram, Monitor, Keyb/Mouse, SPeakers, Monitor all from my old rig that just died a few days ago. I have decided to give am2 and c2d an option for best bang for the bucks. I dont want to spend more than $500 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/47869-socket-939-x2-or-opteron-165-dfi-ut-nforce4-sli-dr-expert-mobo/ Share on other sites
