Nuphor
I seem to be encountering a pretty weird problem when trying to install OSx86. I pop in the install DVD and everything appears to go fine until it reaches the point where the installer first displays its blue background and the cursor appears for the first time. When this happens, I can move the cursor fine, but the DVD appears to stop spinning for what seems like an age. It'll remain at this blue screen for 5 minutes and then the DVD will spin up for a few seconds before spinning back down again. Any ideas as to what I might have to do to fix this? It's been almost an hour now and the language selection screen still hasn't popped up. For reference, my machine looks like the following: AMD Athlon64 3500 2GB RAM Western Digital Raptor 74GB ATi X1950 Pro Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/47836-osx86-jas-1048-hanging-pre-install/ Share on other sites
Nuphor
Changed keyboard/mouse combo to USB ones and things seem to be going faster. It still pauses in the same way but not for so long. Anyway, OS X is installing right now. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/47836-osx86-jas-1048-hanging-pre-install/#findComment-342478 Share on other sites
