Dear all,

My name is Anthony, and I have a question: how does it all work?

I've wanted to know, for quite some time, what "hacking Mac OS X" really means. Obviously, we have elite hackers who "hack" i386-based versions of Mac OS X, which run on that architecture. But, what exactly are these hackers doing to the Mac OS X installations that make it possible to install them, on non-Apple hardware. And, when I ask this question, I'm not looking for an answer like, "they remove hardware checks." I'm truly looking for an in-depth answer, because I want to be a part of all this hype. I'm a really good programmer (PHP, Cocoa/Obj-C), and I'd love to help the community out and get involved in projects like this. So, please, explain to me how it all works.

Thanks in advance!
