fusionfan
VMWare Fusion beta 3 Release Notes + JaS AMD-Intel-SSE2-SSE3 with PPF1 & PPF2. Took forever to install on a Mac Pro with 4GB of memory, but it works. Install Notes: - Use FreeBSD mode (IDE) - Boot/install off of a burned DVD of JaS OS X 10.4.8 - Hit F8 at beginning of boot and use "-v -s" switches. - Have to run Disk Utility at beginning to format. - Install Intel support. Notes: - The 3D acceleration for Fusion had no impact (if anything it slowed it down). - Obviously there are no tools to install after installation is complete. - Saw 128MB of video memory, but no Core Image/Quartz Extreme . - Sees the harddrive as VMWare Images (the brand). Ran about as fast as a 300MHz G3 PowerMac with a crappy video card and 256MB of memory (I gave it 1024). This was with the debug code off. It's not really usable at this point speed-wise, but it works, and the apps don't crash or anything.
