Hello, I installed "Mac OS X 10.4.8 [JaS AMD-Intel-SSE2-SSE3 with PPF1 & PPF2]" release and have an IDE HD as second slave for MacOSX. I get it to boot up with the install DVD inside the drive but then the same thing happens, kernel panic and the message:

"Unable to find a driver for this platform: "ACPI".

I disabled ACPI in the BIOS but it doesn't seem to work. What can I do next, any ideas?

ok Im back, it said something about ACPI drivers not found or something similar when I got the gray screen with the power button on the background and all the japanese words saying to shutdown or press the reset button, but I believe that I need to buy a SATA disk drive in order to get this to work

I got it to work using PATA, this is what I did, I installed linux ubuntu 6.06 from the live cd, created a partition, then I restarted the computer and put the Mac dvd in, selected the partition, erased it, and customized the installation by only selecting the jas SSe2 and SSe3 for intel processors and the ATI agp option and that's it...

I am now posting from my Os X x86
