InsideTheX
Hello All, I'm trying to install OS X on my PC it's JaS version 10.4.8 SSE2, SEE3 with patches ISO, and after all the text mode stuff goes through (takes what feels like forever on my PC) and the GUI starts loading, my PC freezes. I have no clue why, but this is my specs. CPU: AMD Anthlon 3500+ x64, 2.2 Ghz (11 x 200) Features: x86, x86-64, MMX, 3DNow!, SSE, SSE2, SSE3 Motherboard: Asus A8M2N-LA (NodusM) w/ GeForce 6150le Chipset Video Card: 128mb Integrated GeForce 6150le (Onboard) System Memory: Total 1GB, Available 896mb + 128mb Shared Video I really have no clue why that it won't boot, and I have no way of posting screen shots on here. Thanks for all your help! -X Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/46817-problems-installing-os-x-1048/ Share on other sites

RaveGamer
So your saying when you're booting into the install disc, it freezes the computer? (You haven't installed OSx86?) Have you tried booting an install DVD with a lower OS X version? (10.4.7, 10.4.6, etc.) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/46817-problems-installing-os-x-1048/#findComment-335379 Share on other sites
InsideTheX
Yes, so sorry for being unclear. I've download TubGirl's 1048 Final from TPB, and that boots but doesn't recognize my nFORCE SATA. I only see the DVD in the disk utility. So I've solved problem one to find problem two. Can you set 'sata as IDE' in your bios? also try disabling everything non-essential in your bios, you can then add stuff at a later date. InsideTheX
No, I can't switch to IDE mode :S unfortunately. The only option in my BIOS is PATA which doesn't seem to affect anything other than my DVD Burner, which if PATA is switched off, the bios no longer recognizes. I could BUY and IDE drive, however, that'd be kinda of pointless seeing that I have a 200 gb SATA drive. Thing is, I may be able to pickup a 40gb IDE drive fairly easily (and free) and dual boot using acronis OS selector. This seems like a logical idea, perhaps I should run Windows XP SP2 on my SATA drive and MacOS on my secondary IDE drive. Will this work? Zizou
If I'm not mistaken, OS X doesn't like to be secondary.. (will cause the 'waiting for root device' error if I'm not mistaken..) so I'd switch them around (if that's possbiel?) About your first bump, really immature, you waited 40 minutes and bumped it, ffs! Get some patience.
