Hi everybody,

over the past week i have been installing 10.4.8, and it installed very well after the ppf2 patch, on my HP zd8320EA p3 1 gig ram, 100 gig, ATi x600 laptop.

After some trail and error i got the callisto driver working to get full 1440*900 resolution support for my laptop monitor (wifi also worked by changing the device ID).

Ok, so i tried the koverg patch to get QE &CI working, and after a couple of tries that worked to.

Then started my wierd problem. I noticed a digital noise comming from my laptop when i moved my cursor over the dock, and while dragging windows (also when moving over text in firefox). I investigated further, and the noise was comming from the memory compartment of my laptop!!.

After running xbench i noticed that when going through the OpenGL check there was no noise, but when running the Quartz Exterme check the noise was there.

I think it has to do somthing with the modification of the 9700 driver, the only time i had it before was with a WINXP driver that was not optimized for my x600.

Has anybody got any idea where this problem might be traced to, and how the fix the problem?

I am back to only Calisto driver without QE & CI just to be safe.

If anyone needs more detailed information ask me in this tread, i'll be watching it closely.

Many thanx in advance,

Kriz
