Hi

I am trying to install MAC OS X on VMWare using the ISO image "Mac OS X 10.4.8 [JaS AMD-Intel-SSE2-SSE3 with PPF1].iso"

but each time I try to install:

1) I get past the language selection screen,

2) nothing happens for about 2-3 minutes,

3) I get the following message:

"Because of a problem, installing Mac OS X could not be completed"

I then view the log and it says (among other things):

"Exception: EXC_BAD_ACCESS (0x0001)

Codes: KERN_PROTECTION_FAILURE (0x0002) at 0x902beb7e

Binary Images Description:

OS Version: 10.4.7 (Build 8K1106)

Report Version: 4"

I've trawled through the InsanelyMac forums but can't seem to find anything that helps me with this specific problem.

I also get the impression other people are finding this problem

http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?sho...se+of+a+problem but so far no responses

I'm using DAEMON tools to mount the ISO image.

Hardware as follows:

HP Compaq nc4200

CPU = Intel Pentium M 2.1GHz (with SSE2 as checked by the CPU-Z tool)

Mem = 1Gb (with 512Mb allocated to the VM)

I have accurately followed the guide OSX86 guide (I hope) http://wiki.osx86project.org/wiki/index.php/Vmware_how_to

but so far no luck!!!

Please help guys!

Thanks,

daveducks
