HJSako
I'm running Jas 10.4.8 with ppf1 on Asus P5VDC-MX 2.0 with VIA 8251. In AppleVIAATA.kext at the end of VIA PATA Controller section there is a line <key>Serial ATA</key> <false/> If I change false to true I get 100% performance boost for IDE hard disk (Maxtor 80Gb 8mb cache jumped in xbench from 29 to 65) and dvd rom too. In System profiler they now appear under serial ata devices. For Hard drive to work I also had to disable 32 bit transfer in Bios otherwise speed drops down below 10 in xbench. Has anyone tried this before and is it safe? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/46390-via-hard-drive-speed-up-100/ Share on other sites
