yujie
I have installed OS X 10.4.8 by using JAS 10.4.8 AMD Intel SSE2 SSE3 DVD and the system works almost fine without CI/QE. I've tried many times to use Titan or Natit, but never succeed: always get black screen (I'v tried the argument "Graphics Mode", no help). Then I noticed that my kernel file has a different size to the lastest one from internet (Any one can tell me how to find out the version of Semthex's patch? uname command only shows it is working, but no further information). So I decided to update the kernel. But after changing the file, I got this error message and the system cannot be started: line 226: 28 Illegal instruction kextd line 258: 30 Illegal instruction launch...... Some other member got this message because they don't have SSE2/3, but I'm using centrino 1.6GHz, which surely has SSE2. Why this happen? WaldMeister
Well, i know the Mifki kernel is working. Be sure to get the 8.8.1 kernel (Also included on Jas 10.4.8) and the non hpet or non nx version And for the update, use the paulicat method (paulicat.freeflux.net) Also in there, are some files you have to replace, this is essential, else your system won't boot. yujie
Thanks again If I use Mifki kernel, can I also use Titan? Now I know about hpet:). yujie
Well, I was wrong, Mifki kernel only works on SSE3, which is not supported by my CPU. Finally, I have got 8.8.1 + Semthex's Beta9 patch working. But still no CI/QE. I will try to learn more. Thank you, deamobile. Fredasss
Hello, I've Tecra M2 also and can't find a release to make it work... System is booting and I've always a black screen... but sound and actions on keyboard looks to be working, so it's about graphics drivers I suppose. How can I fix it please ? Thanks for help Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/46142-problem-after-changing-kernel/#findComment-822438 Share on other sites
