mspr
Hi, I'm using OSX on my computer (hardware in sign) and all is working fine... iWork, Toast 8 Titanium... etc... What hardware configuration do you have ? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/46071-some-apps-cant-work/#findComment-329789 Share on other sites
enoree
I believe that for many apps to work that you must have CI/QE support working. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/46071-some-apps-cant-work/#findComment-329931 Share on other sites
U.C.
AFAIK iWorks and Toast 8 work without QE/CI. You should probably try using the latest JaS 10.4.8 Image with the Semthex kernel, as it fixes many SSE2 Errors, which could be the cause of your crashes. 999 Posts: Do I get a prize??? Novaya
I should post my hardware first. >"< Board: Gigabyte 8I-PE775-G CPU: Intel Pentium 4 520, 2.8GHz support to SSE3 Video: nVidia 6600 OS:JaS OSX86 10.4.8 AMD-Intel-SSE2-SSE3 with PPF1 My video card doesn't suport QE/CI. I have tried Titan and Natit, but it doesn't work. I will tried my old FX5200 which isn't in my hand now. If it's just like Unstable Connect said iWorks and Toast 8 work without QE/CI. I think I can't slove it, becaue my OSX86 is the last one. OSX86 can't recongnize my CPU in system info. That's problem ?? And can I find the problem in error report?? aussieoc
I am having the same problem with Toast 8. I am running JaS 10.4.8 Image with the Semthex kernel 8.8.1 and when i try to start Toast it bounces acouple of times then just shutdowns and the icon disappears. Im running on a P4 3.0G on an Intel D865GBF mobo. I can run CS3 just fine and itunes works perfect. I am going to try Toast 7 to see if that works. I have burned a DVD using Disk Utility with no problems so I know my Sony DVD burner is not the problem. Anyone have any suggestions on whats going on with Toast 8?? Also CS3 runs significantly faster on the P4 than on my G5 1.6G iMac. Angus Cox
I also use Toast 8 Titanium and is working fine. I have QE/CI enable, this may do the trick. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/46071-some-apps-cant-work/#findComment-347824 Share on other sites
aussieoc
Hmm I do not have I have QE/CI enable, video does not support it. But I would think that would be also something necessary for CS3 but I can run that just fine. Would be pretty funny to find out that Toast needs QE/CI and Photoshop doesn't.
