I have recently upgraded my computer to a:

2.13ghz Core2Duo Intel Processor

1gb ram

256mb Nvidia 7600GT graphics card

P5L-MX motherboard

I am trying to install OSx86 10.4.8 SSE3 JaS DVD onto this system, with one 320GB (SATAII) drive for Vista, and one 250GB (ATA) drive for OSX. I have installed over 15 times from the DVD, and each time I get the same error, which is as follows:

After the install, the computer reboots. Without any intervention, it would normally boot into Vista. However, using chain0, I can make it boot to the OSX drive, where I get the Apple logo on the white background for about 3 seconds, and then my computer reboots. If I instead press F8 as my computer is booting, and select the OSX drive to boot without chain0, i get the dreaded "HFS+ Partition Error".

What seems strange is that i have two different errors when OSX is trying to do the same thing on both occasions: boot.

And just to clear things up, the windows drive is one NTFS partition, with chain0 in the root. The OSX drive is one AF partition, which i created through diskpart, and it is also primary and active. When I get into the OSX install, I format it as Mac OS Journaled.

if anyone has any ideas on how to fix this, I would greatly appreciate your input.

Thanks in advance,

Shaun

Thanks for the help, but I've tried both of those methods to no avail.

Its really odd, as I've tried so many different things to get it running.

The only two things I can think of:

Maybe I need to turn off one processor core (not sure how)

Or maybe need to adjust the number of sectors before the OSX partition (I read it could cause a problem somewhere. After using diskpart it is always 2048 sectors)

So once again, any more help would be very appreciated.
