grav
I have a laptop with a Broadcom 440x ethernet adapter which isn't working. I've followed all sorts of advice in this forum about replacing IOPCIFamily.kext and IONetworkingFamily.kext and all that, and the card has been detected by OS X - I can even see its MAC-address which is the same as in Windows XP - but its led's aren't turned on and I get no IP address using DHCP. The ethernet adapter works fine in Windows XP. I have no idea where to start debugging - can someone point me in the right direction? kevinosx
this may or may not help, when exiting windows do you restart to mac or shutdown and then start mac? this was always my problem, whenever I restarted from windows and even if I kept restarting from mac the ethernet wouldn't work, but the minute I powered down the computer and started it, everything worked fine! lord_muad_dib
it's a known problem.. seems windows doesn't turn off the nic correctly, so you need to completely turn off the pc if you want to switch from windows to mac os Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/45859-ethernet-isnt-powered-on/#findComment-329788 Share on other sites
