MacGen
Here's the specs: Pentium 4 660 3.4GHz SSE2, SSE3...etc....(works on other installs 10.4.3 - 6) 2.5 G of RAM......DDR2 120 G WD ATA drive...... ATI X1900XT...worked fine as well...even had Boris' drivers ABIT AA8XE...again worked fine with networking, except sound ( have creative labs Audigy ) Problem: I install as per how I've usually done installs of OsX...format the drive ( journaled HFS....etc...)..choose extras like intel chipset..and take off languages and printer drivers that i don't need....and that worked for me before... This time around with 10.4.8.....after choosing Intel chipset and ATI kexts and nothing else....I get the normal blue screen that I usually got before but it hangs there.....I tried re-installing and no luck, my bios hangs at "detecting IDE"....don't know if my own incompetence killed my hard drive or i'm not doing the install right........... ..sorry for the long post....I just need advice on what i'm doing wrong or if there's anything that has to be considered when installing this JaS 10.4.8 version......thanks.
