archer75
I am running JAS 10.4.8. During install I select the JAS combo update and the PCI-E ATI driver. My CPU is the E6600 and the motherboard a DFI 975x. Video card is a Radeon x1900xtx. The problem is this, with only one monitor connected I get no display at all. Just a black screen when it reboots after install. I have to have two monitors connected to get any sort of display at all. However it detects one monitor and displays the desktop on the other, thinking it's the other monitor. I could live with this except that my two monitors are not the same format. One is 4:3 and the other is a widescreen. The widescreen is my main monitor. So it detects a 20" Dell but will only display on the 24" widescreen gateway. However I cannot get the 1920x1200 resolution as it thinks it's displaying on the 20" dell with a native rez of 1600x1200 so it looks like {censored} on the 24". If I reverse the DVI cables on the video card it will then think it's displaying on a 24" gateway but it will actually display on the 20" Dell. Which I can get the native resolution on but the Dell is not my main monitor and I have it set off to the side and watching it just gives me a headache. So all I want is a 1920x1200 resolution displayed on my 24" gateway. So far I have been unsuccesful. Any ideas? archer75
Noone has any ideas? Do you think the 10.4.9 update would help? I have heard it has updated ATI drivers.
