WD Digital SATA2 Fix?

Hello,

I've got some problems with booing my Hackintosh using a SATA2 drive. I followed the Vista Dualboot instructions on the wiki, using the JAS 10.4.8 image. Everything goes perfectly fine, DVD Boots, installs etc. Until my first boot after the installation.

Booting in -v It gives the error "Still waiting for root device".

Discussed the issue on IRC and I was told it could be my system, thus checked it with a old IDE HD.

Boots perfectly, sound works, all resolutions, usb, wireless (Belkin USB Wirelessthing), Mouse Keybord, everything,i mean everthing, works.

 

Thats nice isnt it? But the IDE HD is a oversized 12GB disk and makes waay to much noise.

 

Iam using a

AMD64 3800+ Venice

GeForce 7800 GTX 256

DFI Lanpart SLI DR Expert

Onboard sound + Old PCI SB Live! soundcard.

Western Digital 250GB SATAII 16mb Cache <-- (Gives me stuggles in life )

 

Aight as I said. It installs perfectly on the SATA Drive (Native) but just wont boot.

Reading the through Hardware wiki, struggeling for enlightenment, I found this:

Everything installed fine (Using DVD-ROM hooked up via USB).
[u]Followed instructions for Western Digital SATAII Drive.[/u]
Had trouble getting Ethernet running, but fixed with simple file edit.
Pion's System profiler fix works after running a second time.
JaS 10.4.8 DVD w/ JMicron patch, Pion's Patch, Prasis Kernel Update

 

So, might this patch fix me error? (Didnt find it on google) Or any other solutions are welcome. Thanks

 

Ps: OSX Partition is at the end of the disk, doesnt matter right? good good (Used Chain0 for booting.)

right here have the same hard drive and no poblems, maybe is dual boot, or IOATAFamily, if you can install the whole OSX for sure you can boot on!

Yeah I could just boot from DVD and install it.

 

What I did at that time was, Made 20GB Active Primary AF partition. Inserted DVD Install booted, formated JHS? (What was it called) installed and on first boot it hang on "Still waiting for root device". Prior to posting I tried some solutions I got from IRC.

 

What image did you use? Maby you applied a patch or something dunno.
