moridin
Hello, I bought an 256MB XFX 7600GS for my Hackintosh, as I wanted to have QE/CI. Unfortunately I have tried everything to get it to work, with no success. Every time I install the various kext options I either get everything but QE/CI, or the system boots to a fuzzy screen with multicoloured lines. With no QE/CI, its not big deal, I can try something else and see what happens. However with the non-booting situation, I need help with a way to recover. Is there any boot options that give me nothing but a command line? Using any combination of -x -f -v does not work, I still get the fuzzy lines. Up until now, I have had to reinstall. :'( Yes, Ive searched the forums (to no avail), and I am more than willing to try new things to get this working. However having to reinstall is not cool. Oh, and I also tried booting the install DVD and using the terminal command line, but sudo/su doesnt work, so I can't edit or delete the kexts. Any help is appreciated! Thanks in advance. Nadeo
Sounds like your card isn't supportet by Natit. The same problem like mine a few days ago! Here is what i did: 1. install mac with a iso like JaS.SSE2.SSE3.AMD.Intel.10.4.8 or so note: install it without any updates or drivers, just the kernel 2. then wait a few minutes until its done. the reboot. 3. logon to mac osx and download the newest version of natit 4. find out what you card's id is (0x####10de) note: use the profiler 5. then edit the files geforce.kext, nv40hal.kext (or so), nvresman.kext and natit note: replace all id's you find with this one from your card 6. save and reboot So thats what i did. Sorry that i cant tell you everything in cos of a littlebit less time. moridin
Thanks for the reply. I installed "JaS.Mac.OS.X.10.4.8.AMD.Intel.SSE2.SSE3.PPF.1.Defiant.diskutil.biker880.ich -R.patch.Integrated" with only the AMD and X11 options selected. The video card is a PCI-e, and according to the wiki: http://wiki.osx86project.org/wiki/index.ph...L_10.4.8#NVidia ... it should work. I will try Titan again next, however I would love to do it withough having to install OSX all over again. So does anyone know of any boot options to go straight to command line? Cheers, moridin Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/45564-cannot-boot-after-natitdiabolik/#findComment-326017 Share on other sites
moridin
Just tried a clean install with Titan, and modified the kexts. No go. Still shows no QE/CI. :'( Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/45564-cannot-boot-after-natitdiabolik/#findComment-326044 Share on other sites
moridin
Success! What did it is basically ignoring what most of the enlightened individuals on this form are saying. Install clean with nothing selected but the platform you are running (Intel/AMD). Well, I chose to reinstall and decided to select the Natit box. I was desperate! Anyways, it worked! Not sure what is different, but QE/CI works now, and I am happy!! Thanks to those that peruse these forums and help us n00bs out. It's appreciated! ...now to get off this VGA screen and plug in some DVI action. Yikes! Asymov
c'mon! LOL! There has to be a way of installing the 'Nah..tit' drivers without reinstalling OS X. (Okay, the correct spelling is Natit--LOL!) Anyone? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/45564-cannot-boot-after-natitdiabolik/#findComment-326685 Share on other sites
