Hi there, i've been looking all over the tutorials section for despereate ways in which i can fix the fact that my HP dv1000 wirless is not working on MAC OS X Tiger 10.4.8 JaS, and that i have to boot OS X using an external monitor so as not to have it hang on the blue screen.

I know that there's the "paperclip trick" for the dv1000, but im definitely not ready to mess around with paperclrips... When i installed OS X through the JaS 10.4.7 Repack, i did select the "GMA900 patch", and the "wireless patch" but yet i still need to use the external monitor trick, and i still dont have wireless working.

The wireless problem however, is more important.. Are there any concrete fixes for these two important dv1000 problems? Because everything else seems to be working fine..

Do you have the intel 2200bg or the Broadcom 4306 wireless chipset? The intel 2200 just doesn't work, although there is a driver in developement, from what I've seen it's not there yet. I have heard that the Broadcom works just great, you can pick on up on eBay for about 20 dollars. Just search DV1000 Broadcom wireless or HP Broadcom wireless MiniPCI

As for the video, I'm stuck using a paperclip :-(

Good luck

thanks for the reply man...

to be honest, im not sure wich one i have, lol.. Not the sharpest tool in the shed, lol.. I have a funny feeling its the Intel one though :S

But is it easy to install the broadcom wireless? Would i need to open up my PC?

As for video, not too bothered about it, the wireless is wat's bothering me.. One question though, the paperclip hasn't damanged your PC in any way, has it? Can you still take it out and work it with a VGA?
