GBK.Xscape
well i was using my MBP as usual and next thing i know the screen won't close onto the bottom part/keyboard. i went to my nearest apple store and it was getting remodeled so i just went to another one of the 3 in my city. i went the next day and they said becuase it had a dent in the case it could not be covered by the warranty. the people working at the store that is being remodeled usually always fix my problems but the people at a new store would rather not. i can wait about 3 weeks till the store reopens but does any one have any suggestions on what to do rather than spend $610 for another new bottom casing? i find it rediculous that they cannot replace just the latch part but have tor replace the whole bottom part! oh and p.s.- the guy told me a piece of tape would work good. haha Edited March 15, 2007 by GBK.Xscape Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/45391-macbook-pro/ Share on other sites
punc
hi mate. i actually had the same issue with my mbp after a couple of months. i was going to sent it in to apple anyways because of the heat/noise issue and also told them about the bent case/lid problem. they told me it could be a sideeffect of the heat issue, and fixed it among the other things. i got a new logicboard and a new bevel (lid-case). GBK.Xscape
well im waiting for my usual store to reopen and see what they will do, im just pissed that he said that a dent would cause the lid to not close and therefore the warranty closed it, and he told me to use tape. and he was sincere when he said that too Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/45391-macbook-pro/#findComment-326203 Share on other sites
