richie Adler
Hi, I'm new to the forum. I just follwed directions on the wiki site and I'm happy to say I have a "almost" full working Dell B130 with 10.4.8. I got the sound up and running and the LCD is working, but I;m having real trouble trying to get the wifi to work. I tried to follow these directions: Type: sudo -s and enter admin password edit /System/Library/Extensions/IO80211Family.kext/Contents/Plugins/AppleAirPortBrcm4311.kext/Contents/Info.plist add line: <string>pci14e4,4318</string> reboot Launch Terminal Type: sudo -s and enter admin password edit /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/NetworkInterfaces.plist set BSDName to en1 set IOInterfaceUnit to 1 reboot, 100% working When I enter that in terminal I get: XXXcomputer-2:~ root# then I enter: /System/Library/Extensions/IO80211Family.kext/Contents/Plugins/AppleAirPortBrcm4311.kext/Contents/Info.plist and I get: permission denied Can someone please help me? Is there a more detailed giude? Thanks:) sonyasatx@yahoo.com Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/45285-dell-b130-wireless-help-please/ Share on other sites
