leon24
hi guys.. i've been reading up the forum but i could not find the answer i wanted so i guess i just have to bother you guys.. i'll try to give whatever specifications i can to my knowledge so you guys will have a easier time helping me out. im trying to install osx86 on my acer laptop (travelmate 3201XCi), the specs are as follow Intel pentium M 715 processor ATI mobility radeon 9700 (64MB) i'm using the installation DVD "Jas OS 10.4.8 AMD Intel SSe2 SSe3 Beta v2 Installer" and i tried installing. It works fine during installation. When it reboots, my screen shows me the grey apple logo screen with the circle running beneath. After that, my screen goes haywire and it fades from grey to white/black. I read the forum and somebody proposes attaching an external monitor to it. I did that, and on my external monitor, instead of fading from grey to white/black, it loses connection from the VGA port instead (after showing the grey apple screen). I also tried doing the -v -x from the advanced boot up options, one of the error that came across was "VGA: family specific matching fails". I read in the forum and i came across the castillo drivers for ATI radeon video cards. I'm suspecting that it could be the problem with my video card, but the problem is i dunno how can i modify or replace the .kext files in my hard disk with those i downloaded since i can't even get into the Mac OS itself. I've already bookmarked where i shld be getting those .kext files so looking for them should not be a problem for me. Can anybody provide a solution to this?
