Funky frank Posted March 14, 2007 Share Posted March 14, 2007 Hi, i installed the JAS 10.4.8 AMD/Intel SSE2/SSE3 PPF1 version. HDs, quartz graphics, wired network are working fine, except this, and this is really annoying: IOUSBFamily, all USB devices do not work. Only on some restarts suddenly all usb 1.0/2.0 functionality randomly works. I installed the recent Apple IOUSBFamily Debug kext for 10.4.8. And i installed PCGenUSBEHCI 2.6.1a. I also tried to remove the AppleEHCI kext inside the IOUSBFamily. I really do not know what i could try more? Any ideas? My system is: VIA KT800Pro, AMD X2 3800+ And my dvd drive is not working too. I can boot from IDE DVD, install to USB HD, then when it reboots i get : Apple USBUHCI, and USBEUCH-- something along those lines. I've installed this os at least 10 times, and everytime I get a different error. "waiting for root device" seems to be popular. I guess it has trouble reading my IDE dvd drive.
