DarioC
Hello, I've read all topic, tutorial, guides etc... but no solutions for my problem, so I decided to create a new topic. Last week I buyed a new laptop (Fujitsu-Siemens Amilo Si 1848) with a 120GB HD, CPU Intel T7200 (2Ghz) and 2048Mb of ram memory. With no problem I just installed WinXp and Linux Ubuntu on two partiotion. Yesterday I tried to install Mac OsX 10.4.8 but during installation Mac Installer found no drive on the pc. I create a new partition (+/- 20Gb) with FAT32, via win utility I change the id=AF and I change its status in ACTIVE. Now I've 3 partition: /dev/sda1 NFTS 55Gb for WinXp /dev/sda2 EXT3 32Gb for Linux /dev/sda3 HFS 20Gb for Mac but NO solutions for Mac Installer or Disk Utility can see third partition! It find only the DVD drive... also via terminal! Can someone HELP me, please? Thx Dario Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/45232-no-disk-in-mac-installer/ Share on other sites
Vipersfate
Sounds like you may have a SATA drive that has a chipset that OSx86 does not support. I would love to offer more help, but I really don't know too much about laptops. DarioC
Yes I think so... it's sound like a problem with SATA drive. No solution? 0_o Can I install MacOsX on a usb external driver? UPDATE: I've format a new usb external hd in FAT32 as primary. I've lauched MacOsX installation and via Drive Utility I change FAT32 in a HFS drive. I start installation... (now it's about 7%...) UPDATE2: Installation was great... but when I restart Pc can't "boot" from USB DRIVE, so no OsX. Hox fix it?
