impreza Posted March 13, 2007 Share Posted March 13, 2007 (edited) HI guys I am now bald due to pulling out all my hair over this attempted install, sorry it's a bit long winded but can I please have some advice on installing JaS 10.4.8 osx on my fujitsu Siemens amilo xi1546 laptop. I have been reading through the forum for a good week now and I'm getting totally lost with all the different information on all the different patches. I keep reading about an nforce patch but not sure if that what I need. I will apologies first because Its the same old story THE NOOB CAN'T SEE HIS SATA HARD DRIVE. I have tried the JaS.Mac.OS.X.10.4.8.AMD.Intel.SSE2.SSE3.PPF.1.Defiant.diskutil.biker880.ich7-R.patch.Integrated, but cant see my sata HD when it gets to the select device, and yes I have it formatted to primary fat32 (which is the second partition on my HD, running xp ntfs on the first partition) ready to use the diskutility to format to hfs+ but as I said cant see my HD. what do I use to format hd to hfs+ from my xp partition I used Arconis but could not find the hfs+ option I am now downloading the JaS.10.4.8.AMD.Intel.SSE2.SSE3 so see if that will work, with out any of the above patches, or do I need a patch for my type of sata driver and chipset. spec below: fujitsu Siemens amilo xi1546 core duo 2x1.83GHzATI X1800 mobility radeon 256mb 1GB mem100GB serial ATA/SATA HD ( fujitsu mhv2100bh. Dan the Soundman Posted March 27, 2007 Share Posted March 27, 2007 I've got an amilo xi 1546 too and it has a hardware RAID controller that both hard drives are connected to. this is the via vt6421 that is in your post. Unfortunately, Mac you need drivers for this piece of hardware and you cant get them for Mac OSX. you can install OSX through vmware onto the harddrive but you cant boot from it natively. I'm still on the look out for a workaround.
