Well i went with Dilnalomo's Guide but it failed at the end... installed and everything but when i got to the boot up page i got the logo and the spiny thing and then reboot... anyone can tell me what i am doing wrong??? or anything i need to do???

 

my Computer specs:

CPU: Intel Core 2 E 6600

MB: Asus P5W DH Deluxe

RAM: Consair 2Gig DDR2 800 (PC26400)

VID: ATI Radeon 1900 XTX 512MB

HD: Seagate 750 SATA 16MB Cache

PS... Using 10.4.8 AMD/INTEL DVD

How did you resolve the issue? I'm having a similar problem installing

 

Mac OS X 10.4.8 [JaS AMD-Intel-SSE2-SSE3 with PPF1].iso

on

Dell Inspiron 9300 Laptop

2Gb RAM

80Gb 7200 rpm Hitachi HDD

nVidia Go 6200

 

Booting normally gives me a greyed out Apple logo with a 'Please hold down the power button' message.

Booting with -v gives similar output to what you posted, and it just hangs with the mDNSResponder message
