pc_guru
There are lot of people in this forum who successfully installed. This is a simple question : any help is highly appreciated, please............ Well, i did install successfully with both : Marklar-Tiger.dmg and tiger-x86.tar.bz2. I'm not completely sure if Marklar-Tiger.dmg and generic-install-DVD are the same, but i think so. Anyway, if you haven't got any file yet, i recommend you to download the Marklar-Tiger.dmg file of 2.44 GB, i got this one and installed with it, without any problem. Remember to check the MD5 (checksum) of each file downloaded, this's the only one guarantee. Good luck !!. Right now I was able to download the generic.install.dvd which has part01-->part51.rar and a readme.txt file with md5sum. However, this md5sum doesn't match the md5sum generated by fastsum or md5summer. I used the latest version(trial) of winrar. Curiously, the md5sum provided with it is identical to marklar-tiger*.iso mentioned in i-hacked.com website. You'll have to test it, or to download other. If I use it, do I have to patch it first? Here is the text file, if anyone can identify it and tell me whether it's a valid one or not. After unraring it, I got a file called Generic-tiger.iso. Thanks pc_guru. ******************************* "Okay. This ISO is for -TESTERS- and has not been widely tested accross different system configurations. So, your job is to report success or failure involving the install process. Please report your problems and or success stories to: generic.dvd.install@gmail.com If needed, you can find bender12 and br0adband at irc.osx86project.org in the #osx86 channel or maybe #osx86.dvd also. Also, you MUST have an SSE2 or SSE3 Processor. Before proceeding, it might be wise to check your system specifications against *Known Working* configurations. anomaly
The Generic DVD file is a patch for the marklar-tiger image file. You need to download both of them. Once you have both the marklar-tiger image file, use a MD5 summer program (like MD5Summer its free www.md5summer.org) and sum the marklar-tiger image file. The sum/hash value should look EXACTLY like this; e78fe52e30alf8c5b29d4b7932al65e (for marklar-tiger.iso) 6671b06db57db94bebffdd2cffc2c78e (for marklar-tiger.dmg) If your marklar-tiger image doesn't sum up to this, re-download the file cause it won't work otherwise. Now assuming that you sum the image file and you get the correct sum, now make a copy of it, preferrably on your HD somewhere. Once you have made a copy use the Generic DVD osx86 patcher to patch the marklar-tiger copy you just made. After patching you can resum the image file and the sum/hash value will now be; 9a5270e693b2148ba685638f05ea76c2 Now burn that image onto a DVD. Good luck. If you need help looking for either of these files I'm told that googling them with arguments like "deadmoo osx torrent" "phenix torrent" and "generic dvd osx86 patch" are helpful.
