I suppose your graphic card is an Intel GMA900 based and it will require to use a wire trick or a video dongle (try to see the Genius Bar discussion, under Solutions for video Problems).

Otherwise something is not recognized during installation and I suggest you to use Jas 10.4.8 while it's updated and can deal with SSE2.

  • 2 months later...

For some fun, i decided to try OSX86 last night for the first time.

here is some information:

I am running 10.4.8 SSE2 on an Acer TravelMate 4070

With a 1.7ghz Pentium-M, 40gb hd, 512mb ddr400 ram,

an internal Intel Pro Wireless 2200B/G (Centrino anybody?) as well as a Netgear WG511 (Prism54 Based anyone?)

My Audio is the Intel HD Audio based on the Realtec 883 iirc?

Down to the issue, I did what was suggested I tried the "-v" and it actually let me in to configure it for the first time.

Now that I've rebooted, no ammount of "-v'ng" is going to let me in past this glorious blue screen.

Also, when I was actually in the OS, my audio/network isn't working. (if you would like, just slam me with a link to the right area for that?)

any suggestions? Thanks in advance guys!

-KingPunk (1st post woo!) :)

--update,

So somehow I got it to boot back up without going to the blue screen once more. I've tried to go into the Single User Mode, and Verbose Mode to do some diagnostics, Im looking around for something that doesn't look "normal" to me. An out of place config file maybe? (Note: i have no idea what I am doing, laugh.)

I am using the 10.4.8 Jas if that is of any revelance. I'll keep ya's posted.

--update 2

It is weird, I know, but I've found that if it isn't plugged into my AC power, it usually starts up and goes straight to my desktop.

(It may take one reboot as well.) ...don't ask me, I have NO idea why it'd matter.

-Stay tuned folks while I do a little more fighting with this thing..
