hostname terminal problems

Well, the case is that i don't know why, but in the terminal , when normaly i see the computer name at the login, you know, the 3st line, near the "user$", now i see the first digit of the ip direction of the computer.

If a do a "hostname" the computer returns me the complete ip direction.

I try changing the name in the sharing panel of system preferences but with no results.

I try changing too the file /etc/hostconfig in the place that says "HOSTNAME=-AUTOMATIC-" but when i change the name in the sharing panel fails again, and when i reboot too..but not always.

 

Well, i just want to rever the name to the normal state, and well, if the solution is obvious, please don't tell me google it, i did that, with a link to a ebook or website that explain it, i will be more than happy
