habitual
OK this is a strange problem but I have searched and can find nothing on this, even on google and have been trying to fix now for hours. Anyway, when i click on system preferences , and then click on network, the whole system preferences app crashes, so I am unable to configure my network cards beyond regular old DHCP. I have tried everything short of reinstalling osx86 to fix the system prefs issue but to no avail. So I am trying to figure out how to configure my tcpip settings via the terminal. I am horrible at unix and have found a lot of info but none seem to work for osx. It must have some different underlying structures than regular darwin. Im sure that it is easy for someone who knows unix. Here is what I need to go: use terminal to: set static ip address to 192.168.2.7 set subnet mask to 255.255.255.0 set default router (gateway) to 192.168.2.4 and set dns to 68.28.154.11 can someone please tell me how to accomplish this without using system prefs, and only using the terminal or by editing plist files. I am sure there is a way. Also, this is for card En1. thanks in advance.
