The configuration is:

- Intel Centrino Duo chipset

- Core 2 Duo T5500 @ 1.66 GHz

- Intel 82801GBM/GHM (ICH7-M family) SATA controller

- Intel Pro/Wireless 394ABG network connection

- Realtek RTL8168/8111 Gigabit Ethernet

- Realtek HDA

- NV GForce Go 7300

I installed version 10.4.8 on a new partition and left WXP untouched. OS X boots but there are some problems though:

- Display bugs (windows redraw)

- No sound

Can the display bugs be solved with the Titan or Natit kext ?

Moreover, I couldn't indentify the audio chip with Windows' devices manager. It's a Realtek HDA chip but I don't know which type.

I also don't know if the wireless network controller is supported (I haven't tried networking yet.)

Thanks in advance for the help you might provide.

Cheerz.

I have installed OSX on a Dell that uses the GeForce Go7800. The only reason I say that is to answer your question regarding whether Titan will fix your video problems (It will.) I ended up using the latest version of Natit to support dual screens.

Also, I am posting this from my brother's brand new Acer Aspire 9410z running OSX.

It uses the Atheros wireless card (5005), and it is supported. Likewise, the gigabit ethernet card is supported.

Finally, for the audio, I went to 'device manage' in windows vista and found that the Vendor ID for the sound was 10EC and the Decice ID was 0883, so I figured it was a Realtek ALC883, and I was right!

So I went to the 'HDA Patcher' thread in this forum and downloaded version 1.5, then clicked on the link to download a 'dump' of the 883. It worked perfectly, and now my ro's acer dual boots Vista and OSX - with each and every hardware component working in OSX (except that Sleep is not working)

I hope that info helps you move forward!

Thanks for the help.

I managed to get the sound working (ALC883). However, I can't configure the internet connection. The wireless controller is not supported; when I try to use the ethernet controller which seems to be supported, it's like there's no DSL modem connected to the ethernet port.
