I just installed OSX 10.4.8 on my computer to a second HDD, now when I try to boot up and set that HDD(its IDE, my main HDD is SATA) to Boot 1, all it does is sit at a black screen with a "cursor"(the little line that shows where you are in the text), it doesn't say anything.

It installed fine so I don't know what the problem is.

System Specs:

AMD Athlon 64 (SSE2)

ASUS K8V SE Dlx(Via K8T800)

Thanks in advance.

EDIT: If this belongs in Installation a mod can move it, or I can repost if someone lets me know.

I just tried something someone mentioned in another thread, to boot to the install CD, press F8, and enter in rd=disk0s2 this got me to boot, and it would play the Welcome video, however after it played the video it would crash to the crash reporter and then the video would play over again, in an endless cycle(I think endless i only watched 3 times before I powered down).

i had the same issue when booting. I installed it to my usb hd, everything went well...when it finished installing it rebooted, so i selected my boot menu : boot from usb-hdd, and nothing...it continued to load windows from my other hard drive. So i unplugged my 2 sata hds, and my windows ide hd, which sucks, but it worked. I'm trying to figure out why i cant boot my usb hd with my other hard drives plugged in. I thought it was something to do with the MBR, but I set that on my usb drive, and even gave boot priority to the usb drive. Any ideas?
