My Machine

Sager NP4750(aka D470k) laptop

AMD 64 3400+

ATI Radeon 9700 Pro

1GB RAM

Hitachi HD 60 GB @ 7200rpm

(1) I installed tiger following the std. procedure. Next, I ceate danother partition with HFS file system for Darwin. I cloned tiger onto Darwin partition following this article : http://www.andrewescobar.com/archive/2005/...l-installation/

It went smooth without any problem. Next, I just added my account and removed deadmoo's.

(2) Since this processor can only execute SSE2, I need to apply SSE3--> SSE2 patch provided by MAXXUSS. Without it Itunes will not run. If anybody applied this patch(latest, 0.5c), know that there are two options : SSE2-preconfigured patch and SSE3-patch.

(3) First, I tried the former. After appying this patch, I could login but still no luck with Itunes. Even safari crashes if I try to visit this page. Also starngely enough if I try to google with maxxuss, it gets stuck; any other search option works fine.

(4) I decided to go for the SSE3 option. I uninstalled maxxuss patch, rebooted and again applied the patch this time with the option SSE3. It went without any problem but now I can not login. The system hangs at the Mac OSX blue screen with progress bar not doing anything. No luck with any boot option.

(5) I thought that I shall clone the tiger partition onto Darwin partition, since I didn't remove the tiger partition. Strangely enough, I got the same problem with tiger, though I didn't do anything with it. Tiger and the Darwin-clone are in two different partitions. This is really something very strange.

Question : Has anybody faced this problem? If so, any help will be really appreciated.
