Hello,

I am following this guide:

http://cybernet1.blogspot.com/2006/10/how-...s-mac-os-x.html

I already have windows (NTFS) and ubuntu (EXT2 + SWAP) on this computer and I recently formatted a free section to FAT32 (10GBs) in preperation for OSX.

I pop in the dvd, it loads, I open up disk utilities and proceed follow instructions (erase as FAT32, then erase as HFS+). For whatever reason the partition refuses to "erase" to HFS+.

I also tried terminal to see if it gave any verbose diagnostics as to why.

Thank you for your time!

YES!...Others having the same problem. This is a question I would like to see answered as well.

I have a primary partition that I have tried to erase to HFS+...and all it does is...well...nothing. It just names the partition to some technical name and that's it.

hey guys i have d solution

even i had d same problem, but solved it

instead of converting d NTFS r FAT partition to MacOS Journaled wile installin Mac, its betr we do it in windows itself

open cmd.exe n then type "diskpart"

decide upon d Partition were u want to Install Mac OSx

Now goto "Disk Management" n Delete that partition

Note: Before that backup d stuff in dat particular drive n deleting d partition does not cause any harm n don worry

Type d command "list disk" r "list disks"

Now select d disk in which d partition was deleted

Now type d command below "create partition primay size=xxxxxx id=af" n press enter

Note: xxxxxx = size of that deleted partition, id=af indicates that d partition shud be Mac OS Jounaled

an example command

"create partition primary size=20480 id=af"

here 20480==20GB

Now we have created d partition for installin Mac OS

now restart n proceed onto install Mac

after u start installin

Open "Disk Utility" from "Utilites" Menu n select partition that we converted to MAC OS in Windows n then click Erase

It will erase the partition n mounts d partition

Now select d mounted partition n click continue
