Hello.. first time poster.. long time reader...

I have had a few problems with an iMac G3 that i recently picked up.. and alot of the brilliant minds on here will surely be able to help me hopefully. So here is my problem:

I bought a G3 which booted into a weird locked down version of OS 9. So i popped in my Mac OS 9 CD to format the HD.. and it said that the HD was corrupt. So.. i pulled the HD.. hooked it up to my iMac core duo externally... wiped it clean, and popped it back in to the iMac G3. so now when i turn on the iMac G3, i get a flashing ? inside of a floppy disk.. any suggestions?

Have you tried to reinstall os9 after formating the dard disk?

i can't... the HD is blank so obviously it won't boot anything, and the OS 9 disk is in the drive.. but it won't boot from it.. i held the 'C' key and all I got was a floppy disk with a flashing '?' and if i don't put the OS 9 Cd in the drive i only get a Folder with a flashing '?'

Is the os9 cd bootable try a mac os x install or restore cd.

i've got an OS X 10.3 disc that won't even bring up the floppy image with flashing '?' just the regular folder with '?' and i've got OS X 10.4 but it's the intel edition so A) it dosn't read DVD's and :D They're intel so it won't boot on a G3 anyway

i've tried clearing the PRAM, NVRAM, OPENFIRMWARE and CUDA and still nothing
