Ok so - im on a Mac OS X 10.4.8 on kernel 8.8.1 and its all good. However, my music and sounds all play far too fast . It seems as if the music counter is even going too faasst also. Is there anybody else out there who can offer any explanation as to why this could be happening and how to fix it?

Thanks very much

Andy

Something in your setup is probably set to "Sample Rate= 48kHz" This would cause standard audio files (44.1 kHz) to play back faster. Are you using onboard audio? Do you have a usb or firewire audio box? pci? You may also want to check Audio Midi Setup, I believe there is a sample rate drop down in there.

Hello. I'm having this exact problem in 10.4.8 (my system didn't like the 10.4.9 update): audio's playing too fast, and sometimes it's a little garbled, but the information here didn't help.

My onboard AC 97 audio (on an Intel board) is already set at 48khz, but I also tried the available 44.1khz option. Tried using the FSB= method on startup as well, but no luck. I do have a Soundblaster 16 PCI card which works at normal speed, but it's extremely distorted. Just wondering if anyone else has had similar issues. Everything else is running fine, so any info's appreciated. Thanks.
