Pemberton
Hey everyone, I have been trying to follow the NF4+SATA scene as it has progressed, but there have been may too many splinter threads. Some people seem to have the answer, while it seems like people are still stumped and trying to work on it (as of yesterday). It seems that the NF4+SATA problem has been fixed but I cannot find a location to download the kext. Do any of you know if there is a guide to installing the NF4+SATA kext on a native hard drive? I would like to avoid using VMware and Linux LiveCDs, if at all possible. Are there any OSX86 releases that have the next kext that enables SATA to work on a NForce 4 motherboard in an AMD environment? For the specific details of my set-up, please see my sig. And I just want to say thank you! to all the people that make this community grow. Thank you to anyone that can help steer me in the right direction. Pemberton
Ha ha, thanks Jporter. I already found that thread. I was just a bit confused because of a couple of other threads I say on this forum where people seemed to still be trying to produce a working kext, not get the above kext working. Also, the other half of my question is: Do you know if there are any slipstreamed installs anywhere that have the NF4/SATA kext included? Thanks. macgirl
no, you need to add the kext yourself, in the thread there are 2 ways to add the kext to the installation DVD Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/43813-for-the-thousandth-time-amdnf4sata/#findComment-313663 Share on other sites
