JanosX
Ok, I know I was asking for. I started getting cocky and thought I was figuring out this Mac OS...not true. So here is my story(hopefully you can give it a happy ending). I got 10.4.6 up and running no problem, even got everything except sound to work. After several attempts, and a lot of help here I finally got upgraded to 10.4.8. After the upgrade I discovered that there doesn't seem to be any successful fixes for my ethernet card. I figured I would just load up the old working kext i backed up and hope for the best. Here's the problem, instead of still simply having a non-working ethernet card, OS X hits the splash screen just fine, but as soon as the Desktop appears, I have no mouse or keyboard conrtol. I have tried safe mode (shift key) but it gives me dead screen not even the desktop. I have been trying to get into verbose mode but Darwin is moving so fast I can't get to the boot options. Is there a way I can use the terminal from the install disk? I'm runnung, a... dell 8400 3.0 Ghz P4 W/HT SSE2/SSE3 Any help at this point would be extremely appreciated!
