MSI 965P motherboard SATA guide and problem

My Setup:

MSI 965P motherboard

Core 2 Duo 6300

GeForce 7600GT PCIE

Western Digital SATA Harddrive 250G

Seagate IDE 20G

Liteon DVD-RW IDE (with IDE to USB converter during the installation)

in MSI 965P motherboard

SATA ports:

ICH8R SATA ports(purple) x 6 (SATA1 ~ SATA6)

JMicron JMB361 SATA port(Blue) x 1 (SATA7)

 

IDE port:

JMicron JMB 361 IDE port x 1

Guide:

using the latest Jas 10.4.8

 

plug your SATA HD to the SATA1 port.

(my installation can't see my sata harddrive when it plug to SATA2~ SATA7 port)

in BIOS, set the SATA configuration to "campatible" --> "IDE". don't know if "ACHI" work or not.

(if you set SATA configuration to "Enhance", the installation won't see your SATA harddrive either)

 

then start the installation

after that you just have to install the Audio driver(ALC883Audio) and Ethernet Driver(RTL1xxx_1.02) find on this forum

start enjoying :-)

 

 

Problems:

everything went fine, except the SATA don't have full read/write speed.....(only 1~3 MB/sec read/write speed and system boot very very slow~~~)

it seems to be the ICH8R or the JMicron JMB361 for SATA having some trouble...

(or simply because my HD is Western Digital???)

I searched over the forum and find something might help, it's a post about "Gigabyte GA-965)-DS3", I guess the spec is very similar to MSI 965P motherboard

but after trying everything they mention in the post, I still can't get my SATA work as it should be.

the read/write speed is terriblily slow~~~

hoping someone using MSI 965P motherboard can help me out with this problem~~~
