Hello,

I am very new to mac os x, so am a bit at a loss. This problem has been bugging me for some time.

I have an ASUS s96j laptop which is working pretty fine. Bluetooth, ethernet, and other stuff working right away. Display was tricky, I have an Radeon Mobility x1600, and a search in forum with s96j yields to a file called ok.zip that gives me full resolution. QE CI enabled(was enabled in first install but resolution was limited to 1024x768, that zip solved the issue)

Appearantly, I have 8.4.1 Darwin kernel, 10.4.8. I think it needs a kernel update but can't find it. Anyways, I'm not sure if that is the issue.

I have an m-audio fasttrack pro USB sound card, drivers obtained from m-audio.

I open say, itunes. It plays fine, but if ? hover over the dock there are clicks in audio. And other software that does a gui update while making sound(rosetta, I have a sse3-core 2 duo machine with jas sse3 1.4.8 update) makes crackles in audio. Is this something like an IRQ problem?

If I open a screen saver while listening to Itunes, no problems with audio. But using the system, getting into folders, hovering over dock etc makes crackling noises.

Any suggestions? Thanks!
