Ferret-Simpson
This is happening both on my machine and on a housemate's. Standard CD and C2D laptops with GMA945 and ICH7-M. As soon as we start DVD player, we get an "Encountered and error and must be closed" message. DVD player then quits. The debug report gives some messages about kernel protection errors. This a bug with Semthex? It didn't turn up in a forum search, so the fact that we both have the issue seems odd. We've tried Dec9 and Jan10 kernels. GimmeRed
acksys you need to get your QE/CI working before your DVD player will play. When you do you will find that it has choppy play back and is not really usable on your machine. You will also see artifacts on your screen. It is all pretty distracting.
