Hello.

I've just completed a Mac OS X setup on my PC. It all went through quite smoothly, and after setup rebooted and the gray Apple splashscreen (with the twirly thing) the computer just hangs. I found that I can boot using the advanced options on the installation DVD, typing"rd=disk0s2" at the prompt. So I went through some of the problems people posted, and tried to look at my com.apple.Boot.plist contents (using 'sudo nano' etc). It was empty.

I have a Windows installation on my other HD (which I switched to slave to be able to install OS X) and an NTFS partition in the HD on which I installed OS X.

If I just copied the contents from another com.apple.Boot.plist file, would that be sufficient? If not, what would be the best way of fixing this problem?

Thanks a lot.

EDIT: Okay, it turns out I just made a mistake typing the filename. The Boot file has values for Kernel and for Boot Graphics.

Thanks, but I didn't install those.

Oh, and I just found out that if I take the installation DVD out of the drive, the HD won't boot up at all. It goes "Error loading operating system" or "DISK BOOT FAILURE, INSERT SYSTEM DISK AND PRESS ENTER", depending on what HD I set as first boot in BIOS.
