drpain2006
Hey Gents, I recently installed the JaS 10.4.8 on my PC (Intel SSE2). Although installation seemed to be fine, I changed disk utilities etc., the system is not booting. After the Apple appears the grey screen forces me to switch off and on, but no way to get the system working, even the safe mode isn't working. I disabled all the drives (DVD, 2nd HD) at the bios that the hfs image is the only one. I disabled USB Legacy support (read this in another thread) without any changes. Booting with -v option shows me some errors maybe someone has an idea: kld_load_from_memory failed for module /System/Library/Extensions/NVDANV10Hal.kext/.../NVDANV10Hal a link/load error occured for kernel extension .../NVDANV10Hal.kext NVDA::start(display) <1> failed (Having a GeForce4 MX 420 - it is detected by Titan Driver I installed during installation but seems to be failed) kextd_watch_volumes: couldn't set up diskarb sessions the rest should be missing network config, after this it stops at Login Window Application Started. Thats it, any ideas ??? Although I don't believe that it is a video card problem (safe mode is also not working) I will redo installation without the titan option. Appreciate every help or hints you can provide. drpain2006
Already found out that it seems the NVIDIA driver causes the problem (reading through the other topics). I will try to update the kernel to 8.8.1. But there is one thing I don't understand, I run the 10.4.1 image before without having vga card problems. Why the newer version causing the trouble and is it possible to use the older kext from the previous release ? Anyone an idea ? v/r dp Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/43025-1048-wont-boot-forced-to-power-off/#findComment-308078 Share on other sites
