phiDC
hi antonio... i had the same problem as you and i was given some great help finding the solution(s). here is the link to the macusers forum i started: http://www.macusersforum.com/index.php?showtopic=17194 here is the final posting, etc. from this forum which has all the information you will need to get you fixed: ......................................... i tried all of the options suggested on that link (http://homepage.mac.com/hoovmoss/iWebIsGrey.html) you gave me (except reinstalling) and nothing worked. i then did a search for "grey menu" on the discussions.apple.com site and found a number of postings on the iWeb issue. here's the link: http://discussions.apple.com/search.jspa?s...amp;q=grey+menu in summary... for anyone having this problem: • "easiest" method is to share an album with iWeb from iPhoto. this might wake iWeb up and boot up the templates. this may have to be done a number of times but for some this will eventually work. • if iPhoto doesn't work... try the same thing with iMovie • Go to the iWeb application, right click on the app and select "Show Package Contents" Browse to "/Contents/Resources/" and open "Defaults.plist" in textedit Find the lines "<key>SFRAcceleratedCanvas</key> <true/>" and edit it to <key>SFRAcceleratedCanvas</key> <false/>" Save it and relaunch. • do a "custom" reinstallation of iWeb from your OSX system software or iLife CDs after you have removed all traces of iWeb from your hard drive. i tried the first three methods many times with little variations suggested at the above link and nothing worked. i then found someone who had used appZapper to remove iWeb before successfully reinstalling. appZapper is "the uninstaller Apple forgot"... a wonderful little tool ($12.95/$18 family pak) that automatically finds all those myriad files installed throughout your computer and eliminates them effortlessly. you get five free "zaps" when you download the app from: http://www.appzapper.com/ sooo... IT WORKED!!! ......................................... good luck antonio... hope this gets you up and out there!
