Ok, so please see my rig specs below while you ponder this question...

I had the issue with itunes preferences after installing 10.4.8 that was corrected by this post. Everything was hunky dory after I assume replacing carboncore.

So I recently installed the security update 2007-002 and applied the necessary cpuid patches, which again, made everything hunky dory, or at least I thought...

I again had lost the itunes preferences. (Ok, i thought, just reapply the fixer patch). Works great...except one teensy, weensy problem...

Pre-Security update patch (and post itunes pref patch) I could play CoD2. :thumbsup_anim:

Post-Security update patch (with repeated itunes pref problem) I could play CoD2. :thumbsup_anim:

Post-Security update patch (and Post-itunes pref-patch) I could NOT play CoD2, it would Kernel panic when I tried to run CoD2! :thumbsdown_anim:

So in order to play, I needed to re-apply the security update, re-cpuid patch, and not be able to access my itunes prefs and use the itunes widget. :(

In using pacifist, I see the security update did change the carboncore thing-a-ma-jig. Is there any way to modify the updated carboncore (without having to go back to older versions) in order to re-gain the itunes prefs while at the same time allowing me to play CoD2?

Myzar? Xtraa? :2cents: ?

No, you didn't read my post close enough..

If I apply that patch, then i can't run CoD2 and I get a kernel panic every time I try to run it. So I'm looking for an alternative other than going back to pre-securtity patch carboncore and other framework stuff
