green91
Hows it going everyone, im attempting jas 10.4.8 installation on my toshiba a135-s2276 laptop. ive got the dvd made etc, and it boots installation beautifully, but when i get to selecting a destination my hard drive isnt available. I have also checked drive utility and it only shows my dvd drive. System profiler under serial-ata says i have no serial ata device. If i plug in my usb drive it recognizes it perfectly. the hard disc in the computer does still have windows vista installed, does it have to be formatted prior to running installation? Why would the drive not be recognized? Im assuming is a sata driver/controller issue, any ideas on how i can get my hd to be recognized? Sorry if this is a noobish question, ive searched for hours with no helpful results. tied
It seems that I have experienced the same issue. When starting the install of 10.4.8, the Disk Utility cannot even see the SATA drive in the Toshiba A135-S2276. If anyone has any idea how to remedy this problem, it would be greatly appreciated. The A135-S2276 uses a hitachi SATA drive with a basically dummed down core duo at 1.6GHz, and a Radeon 200M chipset with integrate graphics. I suspect that something is going on in the chipset / sata driver that is not allowing the drive to be read at all. Any idea how to load a correct driver into the boot sequence to allow the drive to show up?
